SkyeFitness Squad Highlight: Garrett Wilkin

I'm a father of three, and partner to an amazing woman. I exercise to keep my mind and body healthy, and to try and become the best version of myself.


1) Why did you choose personal training as opposed to the millions of free programs online?

I know that the accountability that comes with showing up in person really motivates me to show up for the session. I really value personal experience and expertise, and I know that developing good habits in terms of form and technique requires teaching from someone who can actually see what you're doing.


2) What has been our greatest achievement since you've been working out?

I've reconnected to my body in a way that I haven't for a long, long time. Even though I've been distance running for a few years, I haven't had a full body strength building regimen to balance things out. Surviving my first session is probably my greatest achievement! 😂

3) What advice would you give someone who is ready to start working out?

Start thinking of yourself as someone who works out. Commit to showing up to your scheduled exercise time even when you're not feeling 100% ready, and adjust your workout plan if you need to. Focus on forming the habit of setting the time aside and getting dressed for it.


4) What is a fun fact about you we may not know?

I love to bake bread and try new recipes!
